Do I hate or love Health Care Workers(HCW) and COVID-19 patients?
Quiz Purpose & Instructions: We have in this quiz the right questions in the right number, with the response buttons randomized as well, so that it is as per the existing Denial, Stigma and Discrimination (DSD) scales used in research work. Moreover, your responses are not stored anywhere in this web page or on your device. Accordingly, after you complete selection of your responses, and hit the "Compute Score" button, you will see your score in an alert message, which is lost on you hitting the "OK" button. Consequently, depending on your score, you can be redirected to different web pages on the COVID Action Community site. So, do click on the three info buttons to read up more on the confidentiality of this quiz, as well as about stigma and discrimination in COVID-19.
Description:

Why this tool is helpful against DSD
A study with over 14,000 respondents to validate the scale showed that stigma was highest among people who had never talked about COVID-19, had less knowledge about it and its treatment, and lived in low prevalence settings. DSD Interventions that aim to increase awareness and knowledge result in reduced stigma. This tool is developed so that people who do the quiz will know for themselves on which side of the DSD divide they are, and to what extent they are on the DSD scale on their side. Awareness of "where we are?" preceeds "where we want to be?" So, in this tool we have taken all efforts to:
1) Not to store any answers, and is shown confidentially and private to the user alone.
2) Easily completed and analysed by the user
3) Could easily be programmed to be spread electronically,
4) Note that it was created for use in developing countries, so some of the questions may not apply in developed countries and could be dropped or replaced.

What you can do to reduce COVID-19 stigma
Education is one way to fight stigma. It helps dispel harmful stereotypes. You can help reduce stigma by:
1) Getting the facts about COVID-19 from reputable sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO). Share them with your family and friends.
2) Speaking up if you hear or see inaccurate statements about COVID-19 and certain people or groups.
3) Reaching out to people who may feel stigmatized. Ask how you can help. Listen to them and show that you understand and support them.
4) Showing support for health care workers and others who are caring for people with COVID-19. Thank them for their work and share positive messages on social media.
5) Showing support for and thanking all who continue their essential jobs to help you and your community, such as police officers, bus drivers, grocery store clerks, food bank workers and delivery people.
